Enhancing the Wild Pacific Trail
OceanWest is working closely with local residents to protect and extend the iconic Wild Pacific Trail. This breathtaking trail winds along the shoreline and through old-growth forests, offering visitors and residents alike an unparalleled connection to nature.
We are committed to preserving the natural beauty that surrounds the trail, ensuring that it remains untouched for generations to come.
Preserving Wildlife Corridors
OceanWest has dedicated 20 acres to the creation of Central Park, a forested green space strategically located between Olsen Bay and the Pacific Ocean.
This area is a known wildlife corridor frequented by bears, deer, and other local species. By maintaining these pathways, we are ensuring that the wildlife can continue to move freely through their natural habitats.
Conserving Riparian Areas
Environmental consultants have carefully identified riparian zones, home to rare plants, sea grasses, and intertidal ecosystems.
OceanWest has gone above and beyond local bylaws to protect these vital areas, ensuring setbacks that exceed the minimum requirements to preserve the ecological balance of the region.
